R&D Tax Relief Accountant

Our company is an established development firm and due to further expansion, we are looking for an experienced R&D Tax Accountant who is also able to work alongside other team members and staff.

Although this position is more towards the financial analysis, it would be quite advantageous for the candidate to know how to produce technical reports.

Some of the financial responsibilities will include calculation of financial information, aiding the submission of R&D tax claims, supporting and helping each other and the development, teaching and managing the team.

You will also work with the Technical Consultants and your team to collate and prepare financial reports that support your client’s innovation claim for submission to HMRC.

You will work closely with the client to help you understand their operations, to obtain and collate related information which includes, Corporation Tax computations and Annual Returns, which will help you calculate the value of an R&D claim.

The successful candidate will need to have good commercial/business acumen. You should have a sound understanding of HMRC, R&D, BEIS Guidelines, also be able to take calls and know how the accounting computer software works.

We need someone who is a confident communicator and be comfortable liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients, competent in examine business accounts and using excel software.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Able to work and manage a team of 8 staff

Experience of working in an accounting, tax or R&D environment

Experience of continued professional development

Minimum of two years experience

Excellent communication skills (written and oral)

Good IT skills

Clear, polite telephone manners

Know the basics of using Office and Outlook

Flexible and cooperative

A motivated individual

Problem solver with the ability to process information accurately and effectively, interpreting data as required

High levels of integrity and loyalty

Be able to work under pressure/in stressful situations

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

AAT/ATT/ACCA/ACA/CTA or equivalent to.

Ability to prepare technical reports

Salary: From £30,000.00 - £45,000 per year
